Frank’s Cocktail Lounge has been host to some of New York City’s best theatre artists and writers with the “Write Night” series, which marks its third year with the theme “Be A Sport” on June 7 at 7:30 p.m.
The brainchild of collaborators Cindy Hanson and Stephanie Bok, the evening of original short monologues, stories, songs and rhymes has been making people laugh, identify and think since June 2009.
Each evening is centered on a theme, a jumping off point from which the participants create new work that they perform themselves. You don’t have to be an athlete or a fan to have a story about how sports has touched your life. Love the Yankees? Hate the Yankees? Play sports on the weekends? Letter in high school? Picked last for the playground team? The performers at this show will bring their own unique takes on this theme, engaging the crowd with personal stories, interesting insights, entertaining songs and funny anecdotes.
