West Indies will play a three-match Twenty20 series against Pakistan set for Lahore in November this year.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Cricket West Indies (CWI) have been in talks over the proposed tour which has now been confirmed.
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Sethi said the tour has been finalized and a detailed scheduled would soon be announced.
He said the agreement with Cricket West Indies (CWI) has been finalized and they have confirmed that the West Indies will play three Twenty20 Internationals at Lahore.
Cricket West Indies announced last month it was in discussion it the PCB over the staging of a series in Pakistan in November. The Pakistan Cricket Board has affirmed manageable security by the International Cricket Council sponsored international security company overseeing the security arrangements of the World XI.
The World XI series against hosts Pakistan is expected to end this week.
ICC Chief Executive Officer David Richardson called the matches an “important stepping stone’ for Pakistan to earn the “confidence of the international sporting community.”
West Indies faced Pakistan in a full series of Tests, One-Day Internationals and Twenty20s last year in the United Arab Emirates before hosting the Asian side in the Caribbean this year in a singular series.
If the West Indies series comes to fruition, it will mark the first time a leading international side has toured Pakistan since 2009, when militants attacked a bus carrying the Sri Lankan team resulting in injuries to several players and the death of several members of the security forces.
