West Indies A team will host their Sri Lanka and English counterparts for “Test” and One-Day International (ODI) series in a six-month period starting in October.
They first host the Sri Lankans in three “Tests” and the ODIs between Oct. 11 and Nov. 5 in Jamaica before welcoming the England Lions for an identical series starting in February next year.
While the Sri Lankans toured the Caribbean four years ago, the visit of the Lions represents the first time in 12 years the English ‘A’ side will clash with the Windies.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) Director of Cricket, Jimmy Adams, said the tour would be critical in terms of identifying players for the senior side.
“This series will provide an incentive for our players to excel during the next Digicel Regional Four-Day and Regional Super50 tournaments,” he said.
The first two “Tests” will be played in Jamaica and the second at the Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
