The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) selectors have named a 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s World Cup from June 24 to July 23 in England.
There four newcomers in the squad — Renience Boyce, 19, (wicketkeeper / batsman) from Trinidad and Tobago; Quiana Joseph, a 16-year-old fast bowler from St. Lucia; Akeira Peters, 23, a left-handed all-rounder from Grenada; and Felicia Walters, 25, an opening batsman and part-time spin bowler from Trinidad and Tobago.
Jamaican Stafanie Taylor will captain the team.
Chairman of selectors, Courtney Browne, said the team comprises a mixture of youth and experience and was based on performances in this year’s Women’s Regional Super50 tournament.
