Cricket West Indies (CWI) President Dave Cameron is giving kudos to the University of the West Indies (UWI) on the initiative to officially add the Faculty of Sport to its courses of studies.
Cameron said The Faculty of Sport at the UWI is a welcome addition to the academic inventory of the Caribbean at this time.
He said the university continues to be innovative in its academic development and this suggests that the region is preparing the next generation of leaders, managers and workforce.
Cameron noted that the value of this initiative adds to the established sporting prowess of the region on the field, track, and ring (boxing) shows the extent of what the university believes is an industry worthy of investment.
He said CWI stands by to support these efforts. The Faculty was official launched last month.
