West Indies opener Kraigg Brathwaite and fast bowler Kemar Roach continue to climb up the International Cricket Council (ICC) player rankings, despite the regional team troubles in the opening Test against New Zealand recently.
In the rankings released last week, Brathwaite jumped two places to 17th in the batting rankings to be the highest West Indies player, while Roach rose to three spots to break into the top 20 at 20th position.
West Indies were crushed by an innings and 67 runs inside four days in the first Test at the Basin Reserve in Wellington recently.
However, vice-captain Brathwaite emerged as the best batsman, with a top score of 91 in the Windies second innings of 319.
Roach, meanwhile was the best Windies bowler with three wickets in New Zealand’s massive first innings total of 520 for 9 declared. He is now the highest ranked West Indies bowler.
