T&T signs contract to host Commonwealth Youth Games 2023

Trinidad and Tobago last week signed the contract for staging of the 2023 of the Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) which required signatories of  approval of the host nation, Ministry of Sport, Commonwealth Games Federation and the T&T Commonwealth Games Association (CGA) and the T&T Olympic Committee.
The signing of the contract was done at the National Aquatic Center in Central Trinidad.
The Commonwealth Youth Games will be held from Aug. 4 to 11 next year.
The CYG was initially scheduled to be held in T&T in 2021 but was pushed back to 2023 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The twin-island country will showcase the very best of a youthful Caribbean and Commonwealth sport to the rest of the world, according to Minister of Sport, Shamfa Cudjoe.
The previous CYG editions were held in Scotland, Australia, India the Isle of Man, Samoa and The Bahamas.
