The 2020 edition of the Trinidad and Tobago Festival (TTFF) began on Wednesday with the premiere of “501 Not Out,” a film about West Indies batting icon Brian Lara, featuring rarely seen archive footage and stills, according to Loopjamaica.
It said the film was screen online to the English-speaking Caribbean on Wednesday night.
“Due to the challenges of Covid-19, TTFF/20 has adapted its program delivery to an online and in-person format,” Loopjamaica said. “This year will see the festival expanding its online screenings for over 120 films to ensure that audiences feel safe and comfortable, while still being able to watch excellent films they won’t see anywhere else.”
Some industry events will be held at physical locations, according to Loopjamaica.
It said a new prize category for student filmmakers has also been added to support emerging talent.
The online schedule will comprise daily premieres of films, which was available on the premiere date only, and for 24 hours from the time you start watching, Loopjamaica said.
All online films will be available through the ttff website, online.ttfilmfestival.com.
