Foodie Nation chef Shaun, a Trinbagonian, who became a social media sensation by sharing his Caribbean family recipes via Facebook, on May 19, joined Travelspan to showcase ALLFROM1SUPPLIER.COM a platform that ships Caribbean homecooked food and groceries from the kitchen of Curry Roti Box, in South Richmond Hill, Queens.
Businessman, Nohar Singh, and owner of the ALLFROM1SUPPLIER.COM, told Caribbean Life during the grand showcase that his agency Travel Span needed to diversify after the COVID pandemic left his company severely affected.
Suffering severe loss, he came up with an ingenious idea to ship food to nationals who live in far-flung areas across America, (except Alaska and Hawaii), by creating a delivery service that would give them a taste of back home. The service delivers cooked food and West Indian groceries free of charge on a weekly basis.
“We started shipping, chicken curry, duck curry, roti, and in doing that we gained traction, so we bought Curry Roti Box, where all the food is cooked and we ship to all States, he said, adding that he welcomed Shaun from Foodie Nation. We brought him from Trinidad & Tobago to cook and spotlight the restaurant.
Singh thanked customers for supporting Travelspan since its inception 28 years ago, noting that the agency has evolved, and thrived due to loyal travelers.
He thanked Shaun for sharing his national recipes, the cooking demonstration, and the parade of dishes accompanied by the music of saxophonist Ewin “Flantis” Edwards, during the afternoon’s food festival.
Shaun, whose cooking show started seven years ago, and attracted over 600,000 plus followers, prepared popular T&T’s Chicken Pelau, a pigeon pea dish, a side of cucumber salad, and serving of potato salad, during a demonstration and tasting to attract fans to shop via the AllFrom1Supplier.com marketplace.

Shaun, a video creator, in turn said he was pleased to be a part of the high-tech way Caribbean food is being shared across North America, noting that he started Foodie Nation seven years ago, to promote Caribbean cuisine to the world.
His social media platform promotes various aspects of Trinidad and Tobago. He also visits and promotes food destinations around the island, to showcase his homeland’s delights. He said he has an excellent relationship with Curry Roti Box, and praised the concept that highlights Caribbean cooking.
He was excited to meet his fans, and customers who came into the eatery, to be photographed with him, and to enjoy his recipes. He cooked up a storm in the kitchen, creating a three-course meal, he described as a fusion of various cultures.

Rozanna, Curry Roti Box’s head chef, Russell, and servers joined Shaun who was eager to prepare, and share his not so secretive cooking ingredients, blended from some of the herbs found in Trinidad’s farmlands.
The cooks are Trinidadian and Guyanese nationals whose specialties include both meat and vegetarian curries, rotis, oxtail, pepper pot, macaroni pies among many other dishes.
