It is the 13th season of Great Women In Music celebrating phenomenal women. The month-long festival kicked off its series on Sept. 28, 2013 with a salute to Robin Richie, producer and host of “Imagine That” a multi-faceted cable talk show that has aired for 15 seasons and has featured some of the most memorable names in music, theatre and sports.

On Friday, Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the TAJ Lounge, 21st Street, New York celebrity journalist and author Flo Anthony will preview her new book “Deadly Stuff Players.” The novel promises to be a five-star Hollywood murder mystery featuring billionaires, basketball players and Beverly Hills beauties. In the book, gossip columnist Valerie Rollins (umm.. a pseudonym perhaps) tries to solve the “who done it.” According to LaToya Jackson the book is a must read.
Broadway legend Melba Moore will give a one-night performance on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. at the Cutting Room, 44 East 32nd St., NY. The Tony Award winning Grammy nominee will perform her signature standards along with her top-of-the-chart hits.
On Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., Great Women In Music will salute Toni M. Carter with the Dr. Rev. Theresa G. Oliver Award at Mount Zion Church for her dedication to congregation and community (Elder Ave Bx. NY). Great Women In Music will also salute Birdland Jazz Club (315 West 44th Street NY) as they present Jazz artists Jane Monheit on Oct. 22, 2013. The month-long event is being sponsored by WellCare Health Plan and Fabulous by Roz.
