The Caribbean Business Connections (CBC) will on Dec. 7 hosts its “Annual Holiday Event” at the Royal Chateau Hall in Rosedale, Queens, from 6 pm to 10 pm, to benefit Team Jamaica Bickle, Inc. (TJB).
TJB is the nonprofit organization that plays an active role in the care of Caribbean athletes at the Annual Penn Relays in Pennsylvania.
According to Andrea Daley, of Caribbean Media Marketing, Inc., the fundraiser is sponsored by Clarke & Associates Immigration Attorneys, Caribbean Airlines, Channel Mortgage and Irie Jam Radio.
“Attendees will have the opportunity to contribute to the great work Team Jamaica Bickle does, as well as make connections that matters while celebrating the holidays,” the Jamaican-born Daley said.
“Leading up to the event, raffle tickets are being sold to raise funds for TJB; first prize being two round-trip tickets from Caribbean Airlines leaving JFK Airport to a Caribbean destination the airline flies to,” she added.
“This holiday celebration will feature all you can eat delicious Caribbean food, an excellent entertainment package and great dancing music,” Daley continued.
Throughout the evening, Daley said there will be live broadcast by Irie Jam 93.5 FM.
“This is a family event, and all are welcome to attend,” she said.
Daley said that, in June 2012, CBC was founded by Sandra McCarty and Hanif Russell “to fill the need for effective business networking among people in the Caribbean Diaspora.
“CBC’s mission is to provide a networking platform to its members where they can connect, aspire and achieve,” she said “Members are able to make the right business connections, meet their next client and identify resources that help them become more successful.
“Today, CBC also serves as a conduit for connecting people of non-Caribbean descent with the movers and shakers in the Caribbean business community,” she added.
TJB, on the other hand, was formed in 1994 and was later designated a 501(c) (3) organization.
TJB’s founder and current chief executive officer is Jamaican Irwine G. Clare, OD.
Daley said TJB’s mission is embodied in the motto, “Our Athletes, Our Ambassadors.”
“TJB’s services extend to a delegation of approximately 650 students and coaches from Jamaica, with the largest delegation of about 500; Trinidad and Tobago; St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Grenada; and the Bahamas.
