museum: Target First Saturday celebrates the thriving art community of Brooklyn and our exhibition “Crossing Brooklyn: Art from Bushwick, Bed-Stuy, and Beyond” through artist projects, music, and performances. Highlights include music by PitchBlak Brass Band and Brooklyn Bodega; projects by Crossing Brooklyn artists Bryan Zanisnik, Nobutaka Aozaki, and Project EATS; and a UnionDocs presentation of the Living Los Sures project, a collaborative web documentary about the changing landscape of South Williamsburg. music: Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College continues its 60th Anniversary Season with a family concert by Hot Peas ‘N Butter at 2:00 p.m. Incorporating five languages and lots of fun audience interaction, this multicultural children’s band uses elements of traditional Latin music, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, jazz, folk, and rock to create engaging music that’ll have kids dancing in the aisles. film: In celebration of The Andy Warhol Museum’s 20th anniversary, this multimedia performance event comprises 15 never-before-seen films captured by Andy Warhol between 1963 and 1966 with his original 16mm camera. Five songwriter-composers representing a musical trajectory from the 1970s until today perform scores to these rare Warhol selections—a combination of portraits and actualités (non-fiction films using footage from real life, but without a documentary’s narrative arc). The films feature such superstars and luminaries as Taylor Mead, Mary Woronov, Edie Sedgwick, Mario Montez, John Giorno, Marcel Duchamp, Marisol, Donovan, and Warhol himself. The evening’s composers and performers, selected by music curator Dean Wareham (Luna, Dean & Britta), who also performs, include punk icons Tom Verlaine (Television) and Martin Rev (Suicide), Bradford Cox (Deerhunter, Atlas Sound), and Eleanor Friedberger, formerly of The Fiery Furnaces. All songs are original contributions except for a Wareham cover of the song “Where Did Everyone Go To?” by Antoine (real name Pierre Antoine Muracciolo), a subject of the film Nico/Antoine. Showtime: 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $25.

flood relief: Donations are being accepted at the Friends of Crown Heights Center located at 671 Prospect Place, Brooklyn. Donations will also be accepted by Mirtha Colon, a Garifuna from Honduras, who operates Hondurans Against Aids out of Casa Yurumein in the Bronx. Casa Yurumein is located at 874 Prospect Ave. in the South Bronx, corner of Westchester Avenue. Checks and money orders are welcomed and should be made out to “SVG Community Inc.” Anyone in the Long Island area who wishes to make a donation but cannot drive to Brooklyn, please call (347) 488-4395 to arrange a drop off or to arrange for Colon to pick up the donation. Items needed include medical supplies, non-perishable food, clothes, shoes, candles. Monetary donations can be made in the form of checks or money orders addressed to “SVG Community Inc.”

passport application center: Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) has launched a second Passport Application Center at the Kings Highway Library providing a convenient facility for Brooklyn residents and new immigrants to apply for passports. Hours are temporarily set for 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday and Sunday by appointment. The center is closed on Saturdays until further notice.
