family day: Join Meli’sa Morgan, Fonda Rea, Alicia Myers, and Marley Marl hosted by Bob Lee from 7:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. New York soul songstress Meli’sa Morgan began her professional career as a backup singer, working with several major artists including Whitney Houston and Chaka Khan. Morgan’s debut single, a cover of Prince’s hit “Do Me Baby,” shot to the top of the charts and the album of the same name hit the top five. Dance music legend Fonda Rae was famed for combining her sexy sound to hot dance tracks embarking on a singing career that has produced an enviable reputation. Vocalist Alicia Myers was a charter member of Al Hudson & the Soul Partners, which later became One Way, before she departed in the early 80s for a solo career. One of Hip-Hop’s first super-producers, Marley Marl was an early innovator in the art of sampling, that resulted in some of the sharpest beats and hooks during rap’s Golden Age. “Doctor” Bob Lee is one of the most recognized entertainment personalities in New York, with his career in radio, music and television spanning over 30 years. Donations: St. Robert Bellarmine Church is joining efforts with the Dioceses of Trenton to bring relief to victims in the hardest hit areas. The church has organized a sorting sub station in the parish and will be delivering donations to various locations shortly. The church is seeking donations of cardboard shipping boxes for packing or rubber bins for storage for victims.
