West Indies batsman Shai Hope has leaped into the top 10 of the International Cricket Council (ICC) batting rankings after back-to-back hundreds in the recent One-Day International series against Bangladesh.
In the latest One-Day International rankings released last week, Hope, 25, jumped 17 spots and now lies at a career-best eighth place.
Hope finished the three-match series against Bangladesh with 297 runs to be adjudged Man-of-the-Series though West Indies lost the series 2-1.
He struck a superb an unbeaten 146 in the series-leveling four-wicket win In Dhaka before hitting l08 not out in the decisive third game which the regional team lost by eight wickets in Sylhet.
Hope now has four career One-Day International centuries with three of them coming inside his last seven innings. He averages an outstanding 47—one of the highest in world cricket among current players.
Shimron Hetmyer is the next best-ranked West Indies player at 40th.
Indian stroke-maker Virat Kholi continues in the number one spot in an unchanged top five.
In the bowlers rankings, the Windies fast bowlers Oshane Thomas and Keemo Paul have also jumped places.
Thomas has moved up 28 places to 146, while Paul has gone up 53 spots to be 179. Both ended with four wickets in the series.
