NYS Senator Kevin Parker who represents Flatbush, East Flatbush, Kensington, Ditmas Park, Midwood, Flatlands, Canarsie, Georgetown, Old Mill Basin, Mill Basin, Marine Park, and Bergen Beach recently attended and honored the Neighborhood Housing Services of Brooklyn CDC, Inc. (NHS Brooklyn) at their highly anticipated 2023 Annual Gala, at El Caribe.
The event celebrated NHS Brooklyn’s fifth decade of building communities and transforming lives and showcased the organization’s unwavering commitment to serving low- to moderate- income families in numerous Brooklyn neighborhoods.
Senator Parker, Chairman of the Senate Energy and Telecommunications Committee and a member of several other Senate committees including Finance, Rules, Banks, Internet and Technology, as well as Budget and Revenue, expressed his utmost admiration for NHS Brooklyn’s outstanding work and the positive impact they have had on neighborhoods in their service area. “NHS Brooklyn has become an invaluable asset to our community,” he said. “Their dedication to building stronger neighborhoods and empowering individuals is truly commendable. I am incredibly proud to honor NHS Brooklyn for their extraordinary efforts and successes.”
According to a release, NHS Brooklyn has been a driving force in providing vital resources and core programs to empower and uplift the residents of East Flatbush, Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, Lefferts Gardens, East New York, Canarsie, Brownsville, and Coney Island.
Their dedication to fostering sustainable communities and promoting economic growth has earned them high praise and recognition from many stakeholders in the community.
