Multi-award-winning dancehall artist Sean Paul has never been one to chase trends.

A globally renowned cultural force who has spent decades honing his craft has released “Nah Follow Dem,” his first single for 2025.

Ronnie Tomlinson, the Jamaican-born, Brooklyn-based entertainment publicist, told Caribbean Life on Friday that “Nah Follow Dem” is “a track that is both a hard-hitting sonic declaration and powerful expression of embracing authentic connections.

“Over a propulsive beat, and built on Sean Paul’s unmistakable vocal delivery, he dissects the art of deception – friends turned foes, and alliances built of shifting sand,” said Tomlinson, chief executive officer of New York-based Destine Media.

“Nah Follow Dem’ isn’t just a rhythm-driven-banger, it is a testament to unswerving self-respect,” she added. “With powerful lyrics like ‘Look how me treat dem, just like a brother, straight from the heart the real lion order, real genuine love me show dem me heart dem draw me out merciful Father,’ Sean Paul spits with conviction, his cadence commanding as ever.

“It is a reminder that not all smiles are sincere, and loyalty is a currency far more valuable than clout,” Tomlinson added.

Friday’s release of “Nah Follow Dem” follows “Bring It,” a contemporary spin of the iconic “Showtime Riddim” by acclaimed producer Dave Kelly.

“The track dominated airwaves, proving once again that Sean Paul isn’t just riding waves, he is making them,” said Tomlinson.

Sean Paul said, “Nah Follow Dem” is “a nod to dancehall’s roots; its message is universal.”

In a world obsessed with social optics, Tomlinson said Sean Paul “stands firm in his truth that real recognizes real.”

She said Sean Paul’s upcoming UK tour, with Billboard-charting R&B heavyweights Ashanti and Fat Joe, “will bring his catalog of anthems to sold-out venues, promising an unforgettable experience for fans.”

Adding to his “monumental year,” Tomlinson said Sean Paul was set to return to Brazil last weekend after 18 years, “marking a long-awaited comeback to one of his most passionate fan bases.

For music lovers who have experienced performative friendships and curate facades, ‘Nah Follow Dem’ is the track of self-preservation that will not only entertain but transform into an anthem for listeners who value integrity and loyalty – served with the kind of energy and profound storytelling that only Sean Paul can deliver,” Tomlinson said.
