West Indies pacer Kemar Roach will be out of the team for the Test matches against Bangladesh because of a hamstring injury. He is on rehabilitation and he should be back in action in about four weeks. Roach has been West Indies most successful bowler this year in Test matches taking 39 wickets in seven Test matches at 22.25 each.
England fast bowler Stuart Broad has 40 wickets so far this year from nine Test matches. Fidel Edwards has been named as a replacement for Kemar Roach. West Indies now have Ravi RamPaul, Jino Best and Fidel Edwards as the pacers. Edwards has played 54 Test matches and has taken 158 wickets at 38.37 runs each.
West Indies will play two Test matches, five One-Day Internationals and one Twenty20 International. This tour to Bangladesh is between Nov. 13 to Dec. 10.
It is important that the West Indies players maintain their momentum and grasp big wins against Bangladesh in the Tests, One-Day Internationals and the Twenty20.
West Indies will be the team to look at and the players will have to play quality cricket and be on top of their game. Some severe challenges await the West Indies and the West Indies players will have to prove their abilities.
Bangladeshi spinners will be Windies challenge
How well the West Indies batsmen will perform against the Bangladeshi spinners is yet to be seen.
Bangladesh players are playing at home and they are expected to put out their best performances in front of their home crowd. West Indies batsmen from time to time have found themselves in trouble with spinners. It is hoped that Darren Bravo and Kirk Edwards are ready for the huge challenge.
Experienced players Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels and Shivnarine Chanderpaul should not face any problem with the attach from Bangladesh.
It will be nice and beneficial to the West Indies squad to see wicket keeper batsman Denesh Ramdin regain some form to boost the lower order. It is important to have the lower order stand up and score under any condition for this will enable the team to gain success in crisis situations.
