The Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center (JPAFHC) recently announced Renee Hastick-Motes’s appointment as its new chief executive officer, effective Jan. 6, 2025.
JPAFHC said it is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that is “positively transforming value-based care in underserved communities.”

For well over a decade, JPAFHC said it had provided services in five locations in Rockaway, Southeast Queens, and Brooklyn.

The center said Hastick-Motes—the daughter of the late Grenadian-born Dr. Roy Hastick, the president and founder of the Brooklyn-based Caribbean-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACCI)—” brings over two decades of strategic leadership in healthcare administration, government relations, community advocacy, and organizational development.”

JPAFHC said Hastick-Motes, who holds a master’s degree in public administration from Long Island University, joins the center from Episcopal Health Services, Inc. in Far Rockaway, Queens, where she served as senior vice president and chief external affairs officer, and founding president of the St. John’s ICARE Foundation.

“Her visionary leadership was instrumental in securing multimillion-dollar grants, establishing transformative programs, and driving health equity initiatives,” JPAFHC said.
Board Chair Glenn Greenidge said: “We are thrilled to welcome Renee as the new CEO of the Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center.

“Her commitment to community health, history of innovation, and deep understanding of healthcare dynamics align perfectly with our mission to provide accessible, high-quality healthcare to underserved populations,” he said.

Hastick-Motes said she was “deeply honored and excited” to become the Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center’s new CEO.
“This is a pivotal moment for the community we serve, and I am committed to building on the incredible work already being done,” she said.

“Together with the Board of Directors, our dedicated team members, and the community at large, I look forward to advancing health equity, fostering innovation, and strengthening the impact of our mission in the lives of the people we serve,” Hastick-Motes added.

JPAFHC said that, throughout her career, Hastick-Motes has “demonstrated exceptional capabilities in strategic planning, philanthropic leadership, and fostering meaningful collaborations with stakeholders.

“Her accomplishments include spearheading health equity agendas, launching a system-wide Patient Navigation and Care Coordination Program, and creating partnerships that amplify community impact,” it said.

As “a respected thought leader and educator,” Hastick-Motes is also an adjunct professor at Hofstra University’s Lawrence Herbert School of Communications and an advocate for women’s leadership, who is completing the NYS Board “Fellow” Certification, the center said.

JPAFHC prides itself in being “a pillar of the community for over 43 years,” providing comprehensive healthcare services to residents of Queens and beyond.

With Hastick-Motes at the helm, the center said it is “poised to expand its reach and deepen its impact on the communities it serves.”
“By increasing access to affordable healthcare, strengthening provider-patient relationships, and using technology to foster treatment accuracy, we continue to be one of the leading FQHCs in NYC,” JPAFHC said.

“Our mission is reinforced every day through our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion,” it added, stating that its clinical services include Adult and family practice medicine; behavioral and mental health; dental services; pediatric services; and women’s health services – OB/GYN, family planning/birth control, allergy/asthma, chronic disease management, infectious disease management, nutrition, podiatry, endocrinology, disabilities, on-site laboratories and pharmacies specializing in the 340B program.

The center also provides free testing services – HIV testing, pregnancy testing, dental screening, and breast cancer screening; and social services – WIC, Health Insurance Access, HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care Coordination, and LGBTQ+ Support Care Center.

“We welcome patients from Brooklyn, Jamaica, Queens, Far Rockaway, Arverne, Red Hook, Rockaway, Inwood, Long Island and neighboring communities,” JPAFHC said.
