Dr. Keith Rowley, political leader of the People’s National Movement (PNM) in Trinidad and Tobago and leader of the opposition in the country’s Parliament, is due in New York the end of this week to address and interact with nationals of the twin-island republic, at two main public forums arranged by the People’s National Movement International Inc.
The first forum will be held Friday evening, July 11 at the Edison Jackson Auditorium of Medgar Evers College, located at 1638 Bedford Ave., Brooklyn, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The second forum takes place Saturday, July 12 at Grace United Methodist Church located at 200-08 Murdock Ave., St. Albans, Queens, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Dr. Rowley, who was re-elected political leader of the 58-year-old PNM last May, will be accompanied by other members of the party hierarchy and is expected to touch on many issues of concern to nationals at home and across the diaspora, as the country prepares for general elections that are due in 2015.
Dr. Rowley and his team are expected to have several other more informal meetings with nationals during their visit.
