The Cricket West Indies (CWI) selection panel gave Captain Kieron Pollard the same two teams that played in the recent series against Afghanistan to face India in the One-Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals starting this week in India.
West Indies, the reigning ICC World Twenty20 champions, will face India in three Twenty20s at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad on Dec. 6 and The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai (Dec. 11). Following that series, the two teams will meet in three ODIs in Chennai (Dec. 15), Vizag (Dec. 18) and Cuttack (Dec. 22).
Head coach Phil Simmons said the Twenty20s will be another chance for the players to develop their game against one of the top teams in the world.
“The next ICC Twenty20 World Cup is in Australia (2020) and the one after that is here in India (2021) so there is a lot of preparation to be done first for Australia,” he said.
