NYC Comptroller John Liu celebrated Black History Month at the Harlem State Office Building by honoring four persons on Feb. 9.
The distinguished honorees were Howard Dodson, director Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Dr. Danielle Moss Lee, president and CEO Harlem Educational Alliance Fund, Paul T. Williams, Jr. president, New York State Dormitory Authority, and receiving Lifetime Achievement honoree, Dr. Adelaide Stanford, former New York State Regent, Author and Mentor.
New York State NAACP President Hazel N. Dukes was honorary co-host of the event with Liu, a long time member of the Northeast Queens Branch of the NAACP, whose president is Ken Cohen.
Qiana Aharanwa-Wardally, Skylar Love, and Linwood R. Smith, Jr. entertained the audience.Rev. Dr. Gregory Robeson Smith of the Mother A.M.E Zion Church in Harlem said the invocation and benediction.
