NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to delivering quality healthcare to underserved communities, has released a new short documentary that showcases community awareness through summer parades.
“The five-minute video captures the energy and dedication of Gotham Health staff, who brought health care awareness to thousands by participating in several prominent parades across New York City,” said NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health.
It said these include the National Puerto Rican Day Parade, the Juneteenth NY March, the NYC Pride March, the Dominican Day Parade, the West Indian Day Parade, and the African American Day Parade.
NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health said these parades showcase Gotham Health’s commitment to community engagement and public health education.
“Gotham Health has long been a cornerstone of the community, providing accessible, quality healthcare to those who need it most,” it said. “The film celebrates not only the organization’s mission but also the vibrant communities it serves.”
Michelle Lewis, CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, said: “This documentary is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to the communities we serve.
“Health care is about more than just appointments and treatments — it’s about relationships and trust,” he said. “The parades gave us a unique way to engage with people, celebrate their resilience, and remind them that health care can be accessible, inclusive, and even joyful.”
NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health said its nearly 30 locations across all 5 boroughs make it easy for New Yorkers to access healthcare services.
It said participating in these parades created opportunities to meet people where they are, share valuable resources, and encourage healthy lifestyles in a festive setting.
The film is available across several of Gotham Health’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
Community members are encouraged to watch, share, and join the conversation using the hashtag #BestKeptSecret.
