The Organization of American States (OAS) says that the new Permanent Representative of Dominica, Steve Ferrol, on Friday presented his credentials to OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro.
“Dominica has partnered with the General Secretariat of the OAS in the four pillars of the organization,” said OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro during a ceremony at OAS headquarters in Washington, D.C.
“In addition, we are particularly pleased with the work we have been able to accomplish in the field of development, specifically in tourism and trade expansion, environmental issues and climate change, and the promotion of democracy,” he added.
Ambassador Ferrol highlighted his country’s “long and productive relationship with the OAS,” and added that “we remain committed to the values, activities, programs geared towards advancing democracy, human rights, security and development.”
Ambassador Ferrol, who is also Dominica’s Ambassador to the United States, previously served as his country’s Cabinet Secretary, among other posts, the OAS said.
