Twenty-six-year-old beauty Lisa Narine on Sept.2 captured the hearts of the judges to become Miss Guyana Universe 2023 at the first edition curated by new franchisee, US-based Pageant Director Teri Brown-Walker.
According to online media Pageant Circle, Narine, a creative coordinator, entrepreneur, and radio host from Region 3 Pomoroon-Supernaam, who holds a diploma in business and marketing management, and currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in international relations at the University of Guyana, wowed the audience with elegance and poise, knocking out seven other finalists to win the title.
Wearing a stunning mauve colored sequin gown, the seasoned pageant competitor, also crowned Miss Global International 2021 where she finished in the first runner-up spot, achieved the same placement at Miss India Guyana 2021 before being appointed to the Miss Top Model International Guyana 2022.
During a TV interview, the queen said it has always been her pageant goal to win the title, adding, “I would love to be able to showcase the beauty of Guyana and the heart of our people, and share what we have to offer to the world, coming back to the international arena after six years.”
“I am very privileged, it is an honor to enter this year’s pageant,” said the beauty queen who also captured the swimwear and evening gown titles.
Miss Guyana Universe 2017, Rafieya Hussain, the last queen to wear the crown, was on hand to crown an entrepreneur, who will represent her homeland at the Miss Universe 2023, scheduled to be held in El Salvador later this year.
