Kabaka Pyramid and the legendary Ghetto Youths International/Bebble Rock Music label on Friday released the deluxe version of Pyramid’s GRAMMY Award-winning album, “The Kalling.”
Executive produced by Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, the deluxe edition features “an exciting lineup of five brand new remixes and two dub mixes,” according to Ronnie Tomlinson, the Jamaican-born chief executive officer of the New York-based Destine Media.
“Dub mixes, ‘The Kalling (deluxe)’ promises to take fans on a musical journey like never before,” the Brooklyn resident told Caribbean Life.
“The deluxe version includes a special collaboration with dancehall sensation Rygin King on the chart-topping single ‘Believe,’ offering both reggae and dancehall remixes that are sure to captivate audiences worldwide,” she added.
In addition to the standout collaboration with King, other remixes on the deluxe edition of “The Kalling” include energetic renditions of tracks such as “Energy,” featuring Sean Paul; and “Stand Up” featuring Nathalia.
Tomlinson said the dub mixes of “Mary Jane” and “Make Things Work” add “a unique twist to the traditional reggae sound synonymous with Kabaka Pyramid’s artistry.”
“With a track list boasting collaborations and remixes with industry heavyweights like award winning Latin producer Maffio, Tippy I-Grade and reconnect with Genius T from Barcelona, ‘The Kalling (Deluxe)’ is a testament to Kabaka Pyramid’s musical versatility and commitment to delivering top-tier reggae and dancehall music to his fans,” she said.
As the album hits the airwaves, Tomlinson said “fans can dive into the rich tapestry of sounds and vibes that Kabaka Pyramid and his team have meticulously crafted, ensuring a listening experience that is both uplifting and thought-provoking.”
On the heels of the release, she said Kabaka Pyramid is set to embark on tour, joining reggae band Tribal Seeds and Reggae legend Burning Spear on their North America tour for selected dates.
“Known for his conscious lyrics and captivating performances, Kabaka Pyramid’s addition to these tours is sure to bring dynamic energy that fans won’t want to miss,” Tomlinson said.
