Healthfirst, a not-for-profit managed care organization offering health insurance to individuals and families living in the New York metropolitan area and New Jersey, celebrated the grand opening of its new Community Office in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on Nov. 20. The new office is located at 1467 St. Nicholas Ave., West 183rd Street.
This is one of nine Healthfirst community offices based in the New York City area with other locations in the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Queens. An additional location is based in Hempstead, Long Island. The Washington Heights Community Office will provide personalized one-on-one service to community residents seeking health insurance and assist current Healthfirst members with their administrative needs.
“The opening of this Community Office reinforces our commitment to the Washington Heights area and our established presence here as a neighborhood partner,” said Pat Wang, Healthfirst president and CEO. “Working closely with our provider network and community leaders, we are now able to present residents with the convenience of a full-service Healthfirst location to serve all of their health insurance needs.”
Senator Adriano Espaillat and Assemblywoman Gabriela Rosa were among the special VIPs who attended the special event.
The Washington Heights Community Office is open to the public Monday through Saturday.
