The Guyana Cultural Association of New York, Inc. has set the stage to celebrate its 20th Anniversary Season, in ‘virtual’ colorful splendor, during a weekend of events, from Sept. 2 to 6, 2020.
Like so many other festivals that are using the Zoom platform to entertain patrons due to the ongoing global pandemic, and CDC safety measure protocol, GCA is forging ahead with an exciting program, that will include, the GCA Awards Ceremony, and special Godfrey Chin Prize for Heritage Journalism, set for Sept. 2, from 6 pm – 8 pm.
A Kweh Kweh Night, will be held on Sept. 4, from 8 pm – 10 pm, followed by a massive Family Fun Day and Children’s Village, on Sept. 6, from 3 pm – 8 pm.
Under the theme: Reflection and Reaffirmation, the organization will stage, dance, music, drumming and poetry, during its usual thrilling presentation, that is expected to attract a huge viewing audience.
It this vein, GCA, is hopeful, that donations would pour-in, since the organization is depending solely on financial contributions to help continue its yearly programs, to engage children, youth, and the community as a whole.
The non-profit is accepting pledges, via PayPal, Chase QuickPay, and Zelle.
Checks could also be sent to Guyana Cultural Association, 1368 East 89th St., Suite 2, Brooklyn, NY 11236.
