The Limacol Caribbean Premier League runners up for 2013 were the Guyana Amazon Warriors but this year the team seems to have a plan to be in the final and win it. So far in the competition, the Guyana Amazon Warriors have played three games and won all, placing them at a six-point lead on the chart. Last year’s champion Jamaica has been playing well, winning both of their games.

Guyana Amazon Warriors have two of the best bowlers in the competition, Sunil Narine and Krishmar Santokie and their batting is phenominal.

TALLAWAHS DEFEAT HAWKSBILLS

Jamaica Tallawahs gained their second win in the Limacol Caribbean Premier League against the Antigua Hawksbills in a fantastic style by eight wickets. The Hawksbills scored 96 runs off 18.3 overs with left-arm spinner Daniel Vettori picking up 3 wickets for 13 runs off his four overs, Jerome Taylor 2 for 22 off his 3.3 overs and Andre Russell 2 for 16 off 2 overs.

Chris Gayle and opening partner Chadwick Walton fired away at the Hawksbills attack scoring 62 runs off 51 balls before Gayle was dismissed for 37 off 31 balls, which included three sixes and three fours. The Jamaica Tallawahs won easily after 14.3 overs and two wickets falling. Chadwick Walton was 43 not out from 34 balls. Daniel Vettori was named man of the match. The Jamaica Tallawahs are very strong on paper and they are playing an aggressive style of cricket. Some of their players are all-rounder Andre Russell, the experienced wicket keeper batsman Carlton Baugh Jr., Nikita Miller, the experienced bowling all-rounder, fast bowler Jerome Taylor and all-rounder Daniel Vettori.

KRISHMAR SANTOKIE WRECKS ST. LUCIA ZOUKS

Guyana Amazon Warriors defeated the St. Lucia Zouks in the Limacol Caribbean Premier League competition played at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence. The St. Lucia Zouks scored 117 runs all out from 19.2 overs. Medium fast left-hand bowler Krishmar Santokie bowled impressively for 4 wickets for 11 runs from 4 overs. Sunil Narine gathered 2 for 21 from 4 overs. Guyana Amazon Warriors made an easy task of getting pass the Zouks’ score.

GUPTILL, SIMMONS GATHERED 76 RUNS

Martin Guptill 50 not out, Lendl Simmons 36 after he was bowled by Darren Sammy and Mohammad Hafeez 17 not out, saw the Guyana Amazon through to victory with 118 for 1 wicket. Krishmar Santokie was named man of the match.
