The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) President, Wavell Hinds in extending commendations to both former West Indies top cricketers said: “We salute Sir Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes for their contribution to West Indies and international cricket and the award of honorary doctorates in recognition in that contribution. It is a well-deserved honor that all West Indies can be  proud of.”
