Jamaican reggae artist and GRAMMY Award winner Kabaka Pyramid has been taking Europe by storm with his latest album “The Kalling,” produced by Damian Marley, according to Jamaican entertainment publicist Ronnie Tomlinson.
“The demand for Kabaka’s music has been met with an impressive series of sold-out shows throughout the continent of Europe,” the Brooklyn-based Tomlinson, chief executive officer of Destine Media, told Caribbean Life on Monday.
Kicked off in February, Tomlinson said Kabaka Pyramid and his band the Bebble Rockers “have been at it non-stop, captivating fans with his ninety-minute performance.”
“It’s been amazing taking ‘The Kalling’ on the road and seeing the response it’s getting,” said Kabaka. “Touring has been one of the greatest outlets to help me grow my platform so my words and works can have a listening impact on humanity as a whole.”
Kabaka’s European tour has hit cities throughout the continent, including Brussels, Berlin, Munich, Paris and Vienna, among others.
Tomlinson said the tour will wrap up on April 10 in London to another sold out show.
“However, Kabaka will continue to spread his music and message with a planned US tour later this year,” she said.
“The Kalling” is Kabaka’s second full-length album and features 15 tracks that “perfectly showcase his sound and message,” Tomlinson said.
Produced by Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, the 15-track masterpiece features some frequent collaborators like Damian Marley, Protoje, Black Am I, Jesse Royal, as well as new collaborators like the legendary Buju Banton and Stephen Marley.
His sophomore album (following debut “Kontraband”), “The Kalling” is “a symphony of high-level contemporary reggae, which speaks to the listener on the highest of planes, the clearest most accurate musical statement about the evolution of his craft,” Tomlinson said.
