Dr. Heather Francis, son, Matthew and daughter, Gabriyal.

On Saturday, April 29 she wowed an audience with her infectious Soca-style gospel music, during a high-spirited concert hosted by Minister Wayne Johnson, at God’s Battalion Church of Prayer in Brooklyn.
The popular gospel singer had humble beginnings, and relied on the God-given talent she discovered at a very young age. However, the powerhouse performer, like many others, had her share of trials to get to the top, but with determination and faith, she prevailed in her quest for excellence, that spanned 40 years.
After her mother migrated to the United Stated in 1976, Williamson, who was born in the mining town of Linden, moved to the rural area of New Amsterdam, Berbice, and later discovered her melodious voice while attending Rev. Walter Pinkerton’s Wesleyan Church tutolage at the tender age of 11.
The talented singer joined her mother in the United States, in 1978, and after graduating high school, earned a Degree in Computer Programming. However, despite her deep desire to travel the path of gospel music, Williams first needed to work to achieve this goal. This led her to the NYC Department of Correction, where she served as a deputy assistant warden at Rikers Island for 20 years, retiring at the age of 44, in 2007, to pursue her gospel career.
Today, Williamson is a world-renowned performer and successful recording artist with six best-selling albums to her name, and two Caribbean Gospel Music Martin Awards.
Her unique singing voice and stage presence continue to captivate audiences throughout the Caribbean and across America, making her a talent to be reckoned with.
Williamson’s brand has progressed to include her children Royston, and Kiara Williamson, who has gospel music in their bloodline. Just like their mother, the talented youths, whose stage names are, Prince Roy and Princess Kiara, bring amazing vocal range to their performances.
Williamson told Caribbean Life, that she was blessed to have ministered for so many years, and credits God for keeping her on a steady path despite the trials she face during her life.
