Russell Wilson and Ciara enjoyed a date night out and about in New York City on Feb. 24. There has been talk in football land for quite sometime that the Seattle Seahawks quarterback could be traded to another NFL team. Reliable sources claim that Ciara would love to see her husband play in a major market for a team such as the New York Giants. With the Giants’ bleak past season, it’s a sure bet that Wilson would be a welcome addition to the team.
Man about town Nick Cannon continues to be on the move. The talk show host reportedly surprised the audience at Stand Up NY on Feb. 23 with material about his seven children and several of their mothers, including ex-wife Mariah Carey. Off for the weekend from his daytime show, which tapes in Harlem on 106 Street and Park Avenue, Cannon hopped hopped on a flight to his hometown of San Diego, California, where the comedian opened his flagship restaurant, Wild N’ Out, named after his MTV show on Feb. 25. Described as a “Classic American sports bar fare , the restaurant features a sports-themed arcade and a 40-seat bar. Cannon says he will open a second Wild N’ Out sports bar in Harlem.
Renowned newscaster/talk show host turned actress Rolonda Watts stars in sandblast, the newest work from Charly Evon Simpson, along with Marinda Anderson, Brittany Bellizeare and Andy Lucien. In sandblasted, Angela (Bellizeare) and Odessa (Anderson) are on a sandy search for something that might be real but they are determined to make a way out of no way. When they stumble upon ADAH (Watts), they decide to follow her lead not knowing the journey could very well be the cure. sandblasted is playing through March 13 at the Vineyard Theatre, 108 East 15th St., New York City.
On Saturday, March 26, legendary music icon Al B. Sure! will fight Hazel “The Latin Lover” in Atlantic City, NJ at the Showboat Hotel. Hosted by Public Enemy’s Flava Flav and featuring Treach of Naughty By Nature as referee, Al B. Sure! is being trained by former World Champ Roy Jones, Jr., and conditioning coach Larry Wade. Al B! is being managed by Chris Giovanni in association with Lenny “Alize” Jones of Courtside Counseling. The match will be live on Pay Per View and in person at Atlantic Showboat.
