Hard-hitting opener Chris Gayle says he has no plans to retire and is setting his sights on the 2019 World Cup in England.
He is hoping to return to international cricket for a possible farewell to Test cricket.
Gayle, 37, one of the most decorated West Indies cricketers of modern times, has not played international cricket since helping the Caribbean side to capture the Twenty20 World Cup in India in April last year.
He has also not represented West Indies in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) since the last World Cup in Australia and New Zealand two years ago and has not played Test cricket in three years.
The Jamaican left hander, who has concentrated on Twenty20s, said he was making plans to be part of the One-Day Internationals and Test squads soon.
Gayle said he still wants to play for the West Indies in a Test match as well as the next 50-over World Cup and he is looking forward to that next year.
He is a former West Indies captain who has dominated every format of the game throughout his 17-year career.
The left-handed batsman has compiled 7,214 runs from 103 Tests at an average of 42, and is one of only four batsmen in history with two triple centuries. He has also played 269 One-Day Internationals with 22 centuries and is one of two players in the game with two Twenty20 in International series titles. Recently he became the first batsman to pass 10,000 runs in ODIs.
