The electric fete is almost here.
The inaugural electronic dance music festival in the Caribbean debuts in Barbados this spring, and the lineup is more than a dozen artists. The four-day Vujaday Music Festival is set for April 4–8, 2018, and will be the first ever music event of its kind for the region, helping to bring life to the growing scene of electronic music in the islands.
Many of the performers are also going to make their debut in the Caribbean, showcasing the variety of sounds the genre boast, said co-founder and organizer.
“Our goal is to bring together a diverse group of internationally recognized DJs and rising stars from around the world in a unique setting,” said Ryan Kruger. “Most of these artists have yet to perform in Barbados, so it’s exciting to bring them to such a stunning location for the first time.”
Currently, the artists set to take stage during the weeklong event are: Art Department, Lee Burridge, Green Velvet, Justin Martin, DJ Tennis, Wolf + Lamb, Lonely C (Soul Clap), Lee Foss, Bedouin, Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Nick Monaco, The Fitness & Pony, Peggy Gou, Francesca Lombardo, Solardo, and Latmun.
Kruger adds that Barbadian fans have a unique home advantage opportunity to take part in the show, and introduce themselves to all types of electronic music artists that are masters of putting on an entertaining show.
“It gives the local house music fans in Barbados a chance to experience many big names in one week,” he said. “We have artists from respected labels like Dirtybird, Crew Love, Desert Hearts, All Day I Dream, Hot Creations and more. They all know how to get a crowd moving and will be bringing their own unique styles to Barbados.”
