Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke (D–Crown Heights) is hosting a two-day citizenship drive in East Flatbush on Feb. 10 and 11. Together with the YMCA, the New York Legal Assistance Group, and the Council of People’s Organization, the legislator organized the weekend drive to encourage green card holders to apply for U.S. citizenship.
The drive is aimed at assisting eligible green-card holders in applying for U.S. citizenship and screen those who may be eligible to receive one. Clarke cites President Trump’s anti-immigration stance and doubt on the future of immigration laws as the need for the drive. Constituents will also have an opportunity to speak with organization representatives about citizenship and immigration.
