The Flatbush Caton Market has been ringing in the holiday season all month. For the final weekend before Christmas, the market is hosting a holiday market this Saturday, ensuring that locals find all of their last minute gifts.
The Dec. 22 event, done in partnership with the wellness group, Stuyvesant Indie Bazaar, will feature live music and a deejay, kids activities, arts and crafts, massages, and tastings and offerings of Caribbean holiday beverages and foods.
Along with the current vendors, who offer all sorts of products from clothing, art, to artisanal decor, for the special day the market is bringing in even more sellers to present buyers with a wider range of items to choose from, said the market spokeswoman.
“In addition to the 30 vendors we already have, we are going to add 10 more,” said Stephanie Pierre. ”These vendors will be selling a myriad of products — dry spices, things for kids, perfumes, and a lot of things that appeal to the community.”
Many of the additional vendors run independently-owned businesses, sell online, and do pop-ups.
She said the event will be among one of many markets she has hosted for the holiday season, and this one will be geared to the younger shoppers.
“Last weekend we had a Christmas welcome, and this Saturday we anticipate a younger crowd,” said Pierre.
“This is a last minute market to get a gift for the kids, and we’re giving away gift bags,” she said.
Gift bag giveaways for lucky winners will include electronics, handmade jewelry and designs, and clothing.
