The festive season brought together families currently in shelters, for a day of great cheer and gift giving at the 4th Annual Christmas “Giftback,” recently held at JHS 292, at 301 Vermont St., Brooklyn.
Thanks to Brooklyn-based non-profit “Don’t 4Get Me” and online radio outlet, “We Say What They Can’t,” families had a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the season in an uplifting atmosphere, where Santa Claus brought joy and goodwill, and all were treated to music, games, manicures, and haircuts for children, during the hours-long Christmas event.
More than 200 family members enjoyed the treasured celebration that shared festive fare and presents to tots and teens who felt included during this heartwarming season of glee.
Since its launch, the Christmas “Giftback” has continued to grow in the number of individuals attending and supporters making monetary contributions and donating everything from toys to resources to time.
Simone Goss, CEO of “Don’t 4Get Me” said “I am overwhelmed with so much joy that my organization has been able to provide not just toys but an experience to families in need during the holiday season. Every year I am excited to see the commitment from my team, sponsors, and volunteers to ensure we come together for a good cause.”

“Being the volunteer coordinator for such a prominent organization is no easy task. But the eagerness we receive over the last four years makes it all worth it. Everyone comes together with an open mind and heart in an effort to give these families the best experience possible,” said Antoinette Bell.
