The West Indian American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA) will be holding its annual Children’s Carnival Costume Construction & Design Workshops from Saturday May 9 to June 20.
Parents are invited to register their children ages six and over for the free workshops on a “first come-first served basis.” Space is limited! Workshops will be held every Saturday at 325 Rogers Ave. (Between Montgomery & Sullivan) from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required no later than Friday, April 24.
The seven-week program includes Costume Design, Steelpan Rhythms, History and Traditions. A mini Kiddies Carnival Fiesta & Parade is part of the grand finale. This parade will be held on June 21 at Ronald McNair Park on Eastern Parkway (Washington & Classon) at 3:30 p.m. Participants who complete all seven sessions will receive certificates.
