West Indies middle-order batsman Darren Bravo was blanked from the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh which started this week.
The left-handed Trinidadian player, has been out of the team since his disciplinary problems over a tweet two years ago, but was recently selected for the Twenty20 version of the West Indies recently concluded tour of India which the regional team lost the series 2-0.
Bravo was controversially sent home ahead of the Tri-Nation Series in Zimbabwe in November 2016 after the then West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) sensationally canceled his match / tour contract over a contentious tweet deemed “disparaging” to President Dave Cameron.
The West Indies selectors named the team to play against Bangladesh in the Test series last week and it included just one Trinidad and Tobago player in fast bowler Shannon Gabriel.
The Windies will play two Tests, three One-Day Internationals and three Twenty20s from Nov. 22 to Dec. 22.
Captain Jason Holder has been ruled out of the tour with a tendon injury in his shoulder. In his absence the team will be led by Vice-captain Kriagg Braithwaite.
Chairman of selectors Courtney Browne speaking about the selection of the team, said after a tough tour of India the selection panel kept faith with the current Test squad as the panel believes there is a lot to learn from these tough tours.
The last time the West Indies team met Bangladesh they took the Test series 3-0, but lost both the One-Day Internationals and Twenty20s 1-2 respectively.
