ART-IN-MOTION Dance Company (AIM) was founded in February 2004 by its Artistic Director, Maitland. According to the artistic director, the mission of ART-IN-MOTION is to enrich, stimulate and enhance the creativity and positive energy of all audiences, keeping the Grenadian culture and traditions alive throughout the Diaspora.
“We incorporate into our study of dance, the vigorous practice and rich historical cultures of the Caribbean, Egypt, Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and Europe,” said Maitland.
“Because of our implementation of a colorful range of dance practices such as Afro-Caribbean, Classical Ballet, Spoken Words and movement, Liturgical, Jazz and Modern dance techniques, we are able to demonstrate, teach and produce performances that blend the traditional and non-traditional to lead the young and the adult alike onto that unforgettable journey that is dance,” he explained.
