Anshin is very clear about the important role that singing has for her. “Music is, and always will be, a big part of my life.” She credits her late paternal grandmother as her first inspiration, “She loved singing and music as much as I do.”
Other influences include noted power singers Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Destiny’s Child. Her recent writing reflects all these sources. Anshin says, “I am very open to all types of music. I listen to rock, pop, R&B, hip-hop, and Gospel.” All of these reference points are reflected in Anshin’s music. Her aim is to be the first true South African queen of R&B & pop who appeals to all audiences!
Anshin is generating much excitement and developing a strong following in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and beyond. She is in great demand from local colleges and commercial radio stations.
Anshin is also working with many of the industries top Grammy nominated, Grammy award winning, multi platinum singers, songwriters & producers writing songs for many of the industries top recording artists.
Anshin is radiant in live performance. She opens an audience always petal by petal as Spring opens (touching skillfully, mysteriously) her first rose.
She inhabits every song she sings and makes extensive use of exciting dance routines performed by professional dancers. She performed to more than 2,000 people at the Bridgeport Beach Fest, July 19 & 20 in Bridgeport, CT. Anshin also performed at the Urban Beats CD Release Party, held at the Roxy in Norwalk, CT.
