Popular co-host Angela Yee of the Breakfast Club aired on WWP-FM Power 105.1, will join Grace A Taste of Jerk, and VP Records, at the launch of its 2022 Jerk Festival in celebration of its 10th Anniversary of bringing exciting performances and tasty jerk to New York.
The launch is set to take place on Saturday, June 18, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at VP Records Retail, 170-19 Jamaica Ave., Queens.
The festival, described as New York’s Biggest Caribbean Food and Music Festival — will again deliver an enjoyable experience of food, music, and entertainment for the ultimate Caribbean event, when it returns to Roy Wilkins Park, Merrick & Baisley Blvds. on Sunday, July 31, this year.
Chef Andre Fowles, award-winning, three-time Chopped Champion of Food Network will be on hand to chop-up good food, next to Food and Travel Ambassador, Chef Natacha Gomes. A book signing by Miss Pat will also highlight the legendary festival.
The exciting event that has hosted prominent New York politicians including former mayor Bill de Blasio, is calling on the public to come and meet celebrities, enjoy good music, taste some good Jamaican Jerk Chicken and more. Giveaways from sponsors and chances to win free tickets to this year’s festival, is also a highlight of the launch.
The website states: “It’s time to get back together to celebrate the food, music, and culture of the islands, in a safe environment in the interest of everyone’s best health.”
“We have a lot to celebrate this year, the festival’s 10th anniversary in New York, Jamaica’s 60th anniversary of independence and Grace Foods 100th anniversary, wow! As we say in Jamaica, “Big tings a gwaan” and we are going to be making this year very special to make it the best year ever!
“Become a Jerk Festival Ambassador and be the first to receive special offers such as ticket giveaways, event promotions and the festival updates,” said the statement.
