Holding gets prestigious cricket award

Sky Sports commentator, Michael Holding has won the prestigious Peter Smith Award for presentation of cricket to the public, at the recent Cricket Writers’ Club Annual Awards in London.
A West Indies legend, who is considered among the greatest fast bowlers of all time, Holding has been a regular of the Sky Sports commentary team for more than 30 years.
In the wake of George Floyd’s death last year in the USA, Holding spoke powerfully about the need to combat racism and his book “Why We Kneel How We Rise” has been long-listed for the William Sports Book of the Year 2021.
The award winners were announced at the Cricket Writers’ Club Annual Lunch at the Kia Oval, on the occasion of CWC (Cricket Writers’ Club) 75 Anniversary and were voted on by a pool of more than 450 media representatives.
